Things we want you to know before the journey
1. WHAT IS THE KHAO YAI WEATHER LIKE IN JANUARY?
Expect crisp, pleasant winter weather throughout our wedding weekend:
-
Daytime (25°C – 28°C / 77°F – 82°F): Sunny, clear, and dry with low humidity.
-
It feels comfortably warm during the day, so sunglasses and light sun protection
-
are recommended for outdoor afternoon events.
-
Evening & Night (14°C – 18°C / 57°F – 64°F): Because Khao Yai sits at an elevation of
-
400–800 meters surrounded by mountains, the temperature drops noticeably
-
once the sun sets, accompanied by a cool mountain breeze.
What to pack:
-
A tailored blazer, light jacket, trench coat, or wrap to stay cozy outdoors after sunset.
-
If you tend to feel cold easily, a cardigan or light scarf will keep you comfortable well into the late evening.
2. WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE?
-
Welcome Dinner (29 Jan) – Tropical Fiesta:
We are kicking off the celebrations with an authentic Thai family round-table dinner in the garden! Michelle loves vibrant energy and rich colours, so let's set a joyful, lively tone for the weekend ahead.
-
Colours & Vibe: Bold, bright, and joyful—think fuchsias, tangerines, sunny yellows, corals, or lively patterns and prints.
-
Ladies: Breezy sundresses, colorful maxi or midi dresses, playful jumpsuits, or chic separates.
-
Men: Breathable linen shirts, lightweight blazers, or polo shirts paired with chinos or tailored trousers (no ties required).
-
Footwear: Lawn-friendly shoes like block heels, wedges, or dressy flats are strongly recommended.
-
-
Ceremony & Reception (30 Jan) – Garden Elegance:
Join us as we exchange our vows under the big tree and celebrate under the stars! We would love to see our guests dressed up in elegant garden formal attire inspired by soft, impressionist pastel tones.
-
Colours & Vibe: Poetic garden pastels—sage green, blush pink, soft peach, buttercream yellow, lavender fog, or sky blue. (Please kindly reserve pure white exclusively for the bride).
-
Ladies: Elegant floor-length or below-the-knee gowns, dressy midi dresses, or sophisticated jumpsuits.
-
Men: Formal suits or tailored blazers (ties or bowties welcome).
-
Footwear & Weather Tip: Both ceremony and dinner take place on grass lawn; block heels or dress flats will ensure you walk comfortably! As Khao Yai evenings can get brisk in late January (dipping to 16°C–18°C), bringing a light wrap, pashmina, or jacket is recommended.
-
-
Afterparty (30 Jan Late Night) – Come Ready to Dance!
After 10:00 PM, the party moves indoors to Ozone Hall to dance the night away! Feel free to stay in your wedding finest, or change into whatever makes you feel relaxed and ready to move (sneakers, flats, and casual party wear are completely welcome).
3. WILL THE WEDDING FESTIVITIES BE INDOORS OR OUTDOORS?
Most of our celebrations—including the welcome dinner, ceremony, and wedding banquet—will be hosted outdoors under the open sky.
In accordance with local venue regulations, outdoor amplified music concludes at 10:00 PM, after which we will move indoors for our after-party to keep celebrating into the night! We suggest bringing a light jacket, wrap, or blazer, as the mountain breeze can get quite cool after dark.
4. A Note on Wedding Gifts & Traditional Blessings
Your presence in Khao Yai to celebrate with us is the most precious gift we could receive.
After the wedding, we will be traveling throughout Thailand, so we kindly request that you travel light to avoid the hassle of preparing boxed gifts and physical red packets. We hope you will arrive without any worries or needing to carry cash.
For friends and family who still wish to honor us with a traditional blessing, we would greatly appreciate it if you could send an e-red packet via FPS or PayMe through our phone number. If you prefer to bring a handwritten card or traditional blessing, a blessing box will be available at the Reception desk on the wedding day, where our bridal party will gladly assist you.
We sincerely thank you for your love, support, and thoughtfulness.
